Mahle's New Piston -26cc 5.7rod AND 2618!

Ok can someone confirm this?? I talked to Mahle today and the guy on the phone there swore up and down that this new piston (SBC550030I26) they are shipping in 4 weeks is a -26ccc dish for 5.7" rods and is definitely 2618 Alloy. I was on Ebay and 909raceparts has them listed but in 4032..... there isnt any information in any catalog since this is a bran new part number. was hoping someone could confirm since Mahle has closed for the evening.

Wow, I thought ppl would be more interest in these.... I was having a bitch of a time finding a good blower piston for stock heads. The best from JE, Ross, Diamond were at -22cc which is about 9.5:1, -26cc gets you much closer to 9.0:1.....

EDIT: I just got off the phone the Mahle and confirmed that YES this piston is 2618, -26cc on a 5.7 rod.

I'm very interested in that, but have 6" rods. Right now I'm using the powerpack pistons and running up to 15# of boost spraying meth/water and they took a beating last year when i ran real lean at the track, but I figure the high silicone content and the water injection saved the day. Still might want tougher pistons some day if they aren't too heavy.

Check with Ross. I think I paid under $600 for a custom set of 2618 pistons with a huge dish of your specification.

Glad to hear that you finally got some pistons.
How is the progress on the rest of the turbo set up coming?

Progress is coming along pretty good, last weekend I had a couple hours to get under there and finalize the exhasut from the down pipe back. Ive decided to get rid of the dual and run a Hooker cat back. its probably more restrictive but I figured I would put a E-cutout in to solve that.

So as it sits the headers, down pipe, and crossover pipe are done. Ive got the WG location nailed down, as well as the turbo support. since Im getting rid of the duals Im fabbing up a new tranny cross member which should tuck up a little better than the duals. I should have pictures this weekend when I get the WG mounted and the turbo support done.

Im moving on to the cold side parts after this weekend as well as pulling the engine/tranny and prepping the engine bay.

JE and Ross
DIAMOND
WISECO
SRP (definitely last due to weak material and poor dish design)
