MAF and S trim ?

My maf is on the pressure side also (near t-body). I had to modify the intake pipes which came from Vortech. I didn't use the stock bypass valve, I used the bigger race "blue" one, which vents to atmosphere.

My big problem is the inlet to the bypass valve is too close to the maf, and it is causing some surging at idle and lower rpms. I may be able to fix this by mounting the blowoff valve closer to the blower, but the room is very tight, esp w/the aftercooler unit.

By putting the maf down below before the inlet to the blower, the maf will not register any "lost" air downstream from there. If a hose blows off or there is a small leak somewhere, the lost air is not accounted for and the engine will not run right. In fact, if a hose blows off, the motor will die. This happened to me on the freeway one time at night, and I never want that to happen again.

So, each way has it's advantages and disadvantages.
