LT1 junkyard turbo advive needed

im wanting to build a junkyard rear mount turbo system for my lt1 and im wondering what vehicles i can pull a turbo out of that will work well with my setup. right now its a bolt-on with 156,000 miles so until i can build up the bottom end with a forged rotating assembly i only want to run 5psi of boost. i was wondering if i could pull a turbo out of a 90s powerstroke since they're easy to find a relatively cheap, would this work? if not what turbo should i use that i could find in a junkyard? Thank you for taking time to help me out.

I really don't have any idea but I would be thinking along the lines of a big rig turbo.

There's probably no stock turbo that will work well. Turbo's are cheeeeap on ebay. Look for a 60-1, P-trim, T4 housing, and a .68 or .81 A/R housing. I would not recommend a turbo that flows less than 60lb/min of air (600hp capable)!.

I've noticed turbos for around $200. I'm a total noob when it comes to forced induction.. is there a good post for someone like me who is kickin around the idea of adding a turbo? Something that explains installation, precautionary measures, stuff like that. I couldn't find a Dummy's How-To article here or even Googling it.

Honestly, I'd also prefer to pay a few hundred bucks for a new one than half that for a junkyard one that's used and from another vehicle.

Check over on LS1tech. There are some sponsored group buys going on right now for T70's at a good price.
