ls1 sts on lt1 Z

will it work, i have the chance to get one for a good deal and pretty sure it will work fine, its a 97 Z with long tubes so i know the lt1 kit wouldnt work cause of my long tubes. i most likely wont even install it till i have abuilt motor, just gonna take advantage of the deal while i can.

theres a difference in the ls1 and lt1 kit? should be basicly the same.
ive never actually looked at or into the details of the sts kit though.

i believe there is a slight difference in the TB set up, but not much, i have an STS dealer lookin into it, its also got 3 pipes that were damaged in the accident that need to be replaced so they are looking into all the peices for me, ill know later today. i just hope it all works out

Re: ls1 sts on lt1 Z

Yeah it will work. I have the ls1 kit on my lt1 model. Only reason is because I'm running headers. If you have headers they recommend the ls1 kit. Everything is basically the same. On the lt1 kits the pipe from the throttle body goes into alongside the the drivers side exhaust manifold and the ls1 kit goes directly on the side and down where the airfilter is and then back. Also it will not clear the drivers side subframe connector if you have them.

Re: ls1 sts on lt1 Z

I talked to an STS dealer the other day about which kit to use with LTs on an LT1 car, he said just buy the LS1 kit.
