Low Boost Motor build

Hey Everyone,
Just want to see if I am correct on this, lets say I wanted to build a low boost motor like 6 or so psi. A good reliable build up would be forged pistons dropping the compression a bit and getting some better injectors correct? I am not really looking to make this thing a 9 second beast just a good amount of kick and lets face it whats better then hearing the sound of a nice american v8 exhaust followed by a loud Blow Off Valve.

Thanks for the help,
CMC

Back when I was 18 and just bought the car I wish I would have done it different. The best most reliable route is to do heads and cam with a nice shot of juice. There are a few guys around here that have done that. The motor lasted a long time. A few guys ran a 200 shot for a while, the motor would have lasted but he blew a portion of the intake tube off. Anyway an Lt1 with heads/cam/exhaust is good for a 12.5 @~112mph. Add some juice to it and you have an easy 11 second car. After all this is done its about $1000 less then a blower so you have the money to put a good clutch in. Just my .02

Turbos and superchargers are nice but they will cost you a grip more in the long run.

A ls1 does a lot better stock with boost than an lt1. Since your going to drop the compression and throwing in forged slugs I think you'll be safe. Get some 42lb injectors and a good intank pump. You'll do alright

I have a 150 wet shot and a thunder 224 cam. I want to go the blown route now. Thanks for the info I appreciate it, I figure with the pistons, the injectors and some good tuning the car should be good to go.

Tuning is the key to make any boosted motor last.

Computer comatability seems to be the problem with LS1's with superchargers. I've seen a naturally aspirated 540 rwhp LS1 easily computer tuned and a supercharged 420 rwhp LS1 with big computer problems, both at Thunder Racing.
