To each his own I guess. I'll trust the advise of the people building the individual kit myself. That's the same info I also received from several notables. You also need to take into account that the manufacturer of a full car can implement the system in different ways, which can be very dissimilar to an add-on style kit.

I dont know about the GT, but I do know that cobras have serious heat soak problems with the air/water. They lose a lot of hp on back to back dyno pulls, and my friends always complained about them on their cobras. I would do a nice size air/air, which I'm doing btw.

FWIW I went Air/Water and only look back when I see people with some of these really really clean air/air setups.

The intercooler core is like 4" thick, 3.5" tall, and 20" long. It mounts above the driver's side valve cover like the Vortech one does (with similar style end tanks). I'm going to move it though as you cant even adjust the rockers without pulling it, and thats a lot of work. It does heat soak a little bit, but its actually not that bad.

I'm also using a pair of 10.5"x11" transmission coolers mounted in parallel where ATI wants you to mount the twin intercoolers. Each has a scoop for it and a pretty beefy puller fan mounted to the backside. The PTK Liquid cooler kit used ONE of these exchangers. I looked at the maximum flow of the core, pump, and lines and found one exhchanger would bottle neck the flow. According to the numbers, even two of these things parallel are still providing the largest flow restriction.

Then I've got a 4.X gallon water tank where the spare used to be in the trunk, with the pump mounted to its underside. That was pretty easy to get in there - made the tank myself so it actually mounts to the same bracket that holds the spare tire in place.

Running the two 3/4" lines from the front to the back of the car was the killer. There is plenty of pump head thanks to the bosch pump (the one ford uses) but I'm just paranoid the lines will get trashed under the car. I had to run the lines on the driver's side - but my downpipe also comes down that side as well. You can imagine how comfortable it makes me feel trying to slide those lines around near the downpipe.

The performance is great, but I'm just not 100% happy with how it turned out. I'm either going to re-do the intercooler and mount it somewhere else and tun the 3/4" lines through the cabin to the trunk -- or I'll just end up going air/air.
