are these FMIC's the problem with boosted cars running hot with the ac on in the summertime?

Boosted cars seem to run hotter with or without intercooling.

My temp stays at 210 almost always, except in 100+ degrees.

Yeah, but those are really suited for drag race cars. They lose their efficiency over extended operating periods.

[QUOTE=CALL911;4998274]Let my car be proof, you don't need to hack the heck out of your bumper to get air to your FMIC. All I did was cut holes behind my fog lights, and ran an air dam below the front bumper to help direct air from the ground, and my IAT's (before I put on my methanol injection setup) were nice and cool. Having a gaping hole in your front bumper would get more air to your FMIC, but trust me when I say, it is NOT needed.

What are your iat's like compared to before? I would never want to chop up my TA's face neither. Could help me figure out if I'll have to go with a front mount or a vortech aftercooler. The options don't seem plentiful for intercooling with vortech.

If you got a T/A, you might be hosed, as I don't think you can squeeze a large FMIC in the front.

Ask 97WS6Pilot. He is running an intercooler of somesort in his car. He made an adjustment to his bumper, but I don't think it looks to bad. Here's a pic of his car.

not really, vortech includes them on all their s/c kits and look at the ford gt and 2003-2008 shelby gt500, they use a heat exchanger to keep the coolant for the liquid to air cool...the efficiency of the system is based on who builds it...

That's the information that I got from the turbo kit builder and the shop I'm working with. My car will be road raced as well, so maybe that was the final determining factor. At extended WOT periods, the fluids cannot sit in the tank long enough to cool.

the ford gt was built for road coarse type racing, and it stays plenty cool...
