Looking for a budget 355 rotating assembly...

My goal is 600rwhp on a P-1SC, a 355 and LE1 heads. I need a rotating assembly for a decent price that will handle these goals.

And is the -11cc piston good enough or should I go -16cc? Searching their list of rotating assemblies is irritating to find what they offer though.

Will the eagle rotating assembly work for the amount of boost required to reach 600+ rwhp?

I am sure I left alot of things unanswered but I am getting hurried to get ready to go eat, so feel free to ask any questions I did not cover.

TO obtain 600 rwhp, you will be needing north of 700 flywheel hp. I would be looking at rotating assemblies other than Eagle brand to make that kind of power consistantly. There will probably be someone that will disagree and say ythat Eagle has worked just fine for them, but I believe you will be exceeding the "safe" limits of the Eagle probucts at that point.

For a little more $$$, you could get into a Calles "Dragonslayer" crank, Calles "Comp Star" rods and a set of JE forged 2618 forced induction pistons or something similar.

To better answer your question regarding the selection of inverted piston dome cc's, you need to know the cc's of the LE1 heads and more important, your desired compression ratio of the motor. A good starting point is 8.5 to 1.

You probably want the biggest dish you can get, le1 heads will have a tiny chamber so you need to make up for it in the pistons.

I'm in the Eagle/scat crew, but what Boosted said is true. Buy the best you can comfortably afford. If you are looking budget a cheap crank, some h beams and a good piston will hold what you are looking to make. Hell I am running SRP pistons, but everyone else will say it can't/shouldn't be done. Again - buy the best you can.

Hit up the For Sale section. I was able to peice together my forged rotating assembly for just over $1000 and it was all new stuff.

I ended up with a scat crank, eagle h-beams, and SRP -24cc pistons. Nothing special but its decent stuff.

Winter 03-04 we installed a eagle rotating kit (H-beam) and a set of SRP pistons (-31cc) + ARP2000 rod bolts. We destroyed the pistons in the last race -04 (to much timing)
We replaced the pistons to 2005 season and have run the same combo since then, we changed bearings and rings winter 06-07 thats all.
Ill guess that we have 350 runs at the tracks 04-08 and a lot of street driving widh WOT runs between 04-06
04 we dynoed 600rwhp widh a p1sc 05 and till now we haved run an F1sc at max rev.

So my answer to youre question is YES.

Do you already have the P1?

i would look into another piston. Crank and rods should do fine, but the slugs are where you want some more money.

Yeah I am pretty sure I can splurge on them. In reality it was just about $1500 cheaper than what i was originally looking at so I was curious. Eric from VRE sent me a very helpful PM and I will probably look forward to dealing with him shortly when I settle on everything I want.
