Kooks = no oil cooler. Will I still be alright?
Re: Kooks = no oil cooler. Will I still be alright?
Wow, what a dick. Next time I won't answer your post to try to help.
The fact that I stated that without an oil cooler I had no issues with engine temp wasn't helpful. Just because I don't know what the specific engine temp difference was.

You said you removed the oil cooler the same time you went FI and you weren't sure of any change.
I need to know the difference with FI both with and without the oil cooler (thats the whole point of the post).
Seemed totally irrelevant to me when you were giving information that didn't match the criterea.

I wish I had better numbers for you- I thought I should add my car isn't a DD- I have just about everything off the motor that isn't necessary for basic operation. Emissions, A/C etc...Also added a FMIC- so my bumper has been cut-out which might allow more air to directly reach the radiator.
I pulled off the oil cooler a few years ago when I dropped in the 383 to further help clean things up and add a little more room for working around. I kept the same water pump, thermostat, radiator, fans etc..the only difference was the oil cooler was out of the system. I didn't notice any change that was obvious, but I was watching my wideband, fuel and oil pressure a little more closely. But with everyone else posting similar results I think you'll be fine.
Take it out and enjoy the added room on the bottom half.
