Interesting location for IC on WS6/Zstyle hood
Interesting location for IC on WS6/Zstyle hood
I have been thinking of a location for an intercooler on my car without loosing the use of my ram air. I have a Z-style hood (WS6 style) and have been thinking that all cent SC are located in the lower driver's side of the engine bay with the intake piping running up and bending into the TB. Why not place the IC in the location of the airbox for the WS6/Z-style ram air hoods. This would allow you to run an IC, keeping your intake temps lower, still get use out of the ram air hood, not take up any other space, and not be concerned with cooling effects and blocking the radiator airflow. Just something I have been thinking about. Some of my concerns would be the thickness of the IC itself. Other than that, the IC pipe routing would not be too hard. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks,
Kyle

I want an Ultra Z hood and have been thinking the same thing. However, I am a good ways away from having anything to hook to an IC. I am curious if anyone else has done this.
I have heard people say that it wouldn't be good on a SS hood because it is directly over the engine. Thus, it picks up a lot of underhood heat.
Anyone done this one yet?
