I'm really digging my alkycontrol

Last summer during the hot months my car felt like a dog. This summer is noticeably better. This alkycontrol kit has increased my HP significantly. When it starts spraying at about 4psi the motor just feels silky smooth with no hiccups. This is definitely a must have for a boosted car. The other day it was humid outside from a recent rain and my AFR went down to less than 10.0. The car was noticeably weak. No problem I just turned the gain **** from 6 to 4 and boom my AF ratio is back to 11.5. I'm up to 25,000 miles on my budget blower motor and I'm hoping my good luck will continue.

I've been thinking about one of these units also, glad to hear you are satisfied with the results. What kind of mix are you currently running in your Alkycontrol?

Most guys debate this into the ground. It seems pretty split between straight methanol and 50-50 water/methanol. I personally am running a 50-50 mix with excellent results. Straight methanol is a little more corrosive and will cost a little more. Either one will work well though.

WS6Pilot, what kind of tank are you using to store your methanol in your car? I am using the windsheild washer tank (just over a gallon). Also, how much methanol are you going through?

I have a Snow Performance kit on mine that has a progressive system. The first bit of methanol starts spraying at 5#'s and the second kicks in at 10#'s of boost. I rail on my car just as much as the next guy, and all summer I have only gone through maybe 2-4 gallons. Does this compare to how fast you are going through it? The tech guys said I might drain my gallon tank with a half dozen passes at the track, but its more like 1/4 of a gallon at best. Just curious if this is what others are experiencing.

I'm using the 99.9 pure sunoco methanol. There is a candlemaker close to my house that sells it for 2.50 a gallon. I go through about a washer fluid tank full each month (1.5 gallons). Mine is a daily driver and gets romped on about every trip.

The alkycontrol kit uses a gm 2 bar MAP to progressively increase flow as boost increases. I was originally planning to get a BS3 for my car but my car runs so well and is so easy to tune I'm sticking with the stock computer and keeping things simple. Using the the gain **** in the cockpit and monitoring the Dynojet Wideband Commander guage you can tune your AF ratio on the fly.

The Alky control kit is a bit more than my Snow Performance. And each has different variants you can get. I got my Snow Performance because it is the ONLY methanol injection kit with a "safe injection" option, wich constantly moniters your methanol flow and if for any reason it isn't where its supposed to be then it bleeds off your boost keeping you from blowing up the motor. This was enough for me to order one on the spot.

I think it was $625. It was a very complete kit with a low level led and a system on led that changes from red to green to verify flow. It only took me about 3 hours to install the whole kit. They took all the guesswork out of it and I didn't even have to change the settings on the PAC box as they came preset for my boost level.

Ben I think ALKYControl has something similiar to SNOW "safe function" if I'm not mistaken. I know when I go to install mine I'll be doing 50/50 just to keep the IAT's in check. I'll do straight meth if only I was still going to be here in Germany another 3 yrs for max hp. Can never have enough HP for the autobahn..

I'm confident Alky Control doesn't have a "safe injection" option as I talked with Julio for about an hour and a half about it prior to me choosing Snow Performance's kit that does include it. Julio argued that it "couldn't be done", where as Snow Performance's kit proves it does. Julio seemed like a knowledgeble guy, but he knocked almost all the other methanol injection companies out there and made some false statements which I didn't care for.

The ALKY control kit is still top notch, but I still like my Snow Performance better.

How hard is it to adapt the Snow Performance kit so that it uses the windshield washer fluid tank (the obvious choice in our cars)? With my turbo setup, under hood room is at a premium.

Also, it looks as the SafeInjection is not available right now. If I decide to go with a water/meth kit, I would only go to Snow for that reason, but It's almost time for my dyno tune.

I guess I'll call them tomorrow to check he ETA.

How does the snow kit "bleed off boost". Is it tied to your bypass valve?

Looking at the products on the page, there is either a wastegate or bypass solenoid that you would purchase along with the the SafeInjection unit (it should just come with either or JMHO). Doesn't seem like an impossible technology to me.

Does anyone know how much just the SafeInjection unit costs as they don't have a price for it on the website since it's not available right now?
