Ignition upgrades

I'm getting ready to up the boost from 4.5 to 6lbs also plan to get heads ported and cam in the near future so I am upgrading my ignition. A couple of days ago I ordered an msd coil but I'm not sure if it is any better than stock also I was going to get a 6a but was wondering if anyone has ever used the gmpp heavy duty ignition control pn:10037378
Would the gm stuff be better than msd? It seems a lot of people have problems with msd stuff crapping out on them.

The MSD ignition coil is better than a stock coil but do not expect any kind of hp increase. Most people get the MSD 6BTM which allow you to pull timing under boost. I had a MSD 6BTM on my car and have never had issues with it. I have heard horror stories of Crane Igntion boxes crapping out.

Thanks, not expecting any hp gains, just looking to maintaine a hot spark as reliably as possible. Timing will be adressed via tuning. Anybody know if the gm ignition box will perform the same as a msd6a?
