IAT sensor question

I'm making a new elbow to mate up to the throttle body. Do I need to make a provision for the IAT sensor in it, or can I omit the sensor? If anyone has made a new throttle body pipe w/ the sensor in it, could I get some pics please? FWIW, the sensor is maxed out with my setup, so it's not providing any useful information to me as far as data logging.

Are you saying that your IAT sensor is maxed out? How is that?? What are you getting for readings?

I think that the reading was like 160* and it never changes throughout a run. Someone told me that this was the highest that the IAT sensor can read. I would suspect that my IAT's are much higher than that since I have no intercooler.

I dont know if the LS1 IAT are different but I have seen temps as high as 206* on My IAT sensor on a 92 degree day doing back to back to back runs on the highway against a Porche (at 130MPH) so they dont stop at 160*

Hope that helps,
Claude

Well, I'm not entirely sure about the reading from my IAT sensor then, but I seriously doubt that on a non-intercooled setup pushing 17psi of boost the IAT's were only 160* throughout a whole run. Either way, my main question is if I'm going to have any problems with omitting the sensor, or if it is critical to proper operation. Also, people who have made a new pipe to the throttle body, please post pics of how you mounted your IAT sensor if you did.
