I see knock that only occurs when I first floor it and I have an A4. It then tappers off even as the revs increase. I tried decreasing the timing at the rpm that it occurs but that only helps a little. My Z is a 97 and I never saw that knock with the original obd2 pcm, I only see it with the obd1 pcm. I even swapped knock modules but the obd1 still showed knock. I think the obd1 is just much more sensitive to knock then the obd2 is.

I wish those lt1-edit guys would pull their heads out the butts and realize they could sell 10x more units if they would just drop the price to a reasonable amount ($200).

So which table is this. I see 4 tables that have to do with knock retard in Tunercat:

The Knock Fast Attack Rate vs. RPM
Knock Retard Recovery Rate vs. RPM
Max Retard vs. RPM (in WOT)
Max Spark Retard vs. MAP

So what is the name of the file or provision for Burst Retard in LT1 edit? Just trying to compare the two programs (LT1 edit vs Tunercat)

I have a friend with a 95 that experiences knock at the track right off the line and it steadily decreases to zero during his runs according to his data master file. We both use tunercat, but if LT1 edit has more features then maybe i'd like to check it out.

Not really sure which one they call the Burst Knock adjustment. Could you use process of elimination for deduction? Other then that I would guess its Knock Fast Attach Rate vs RPM.

Well i checked out the LT1 Edit users guide and it does have provisions for Burst Retard, and even a low octane mode, for OBD1 computers. I can't modify these tables with Tunercat. Oh well. Now i know

I have low octane adjustments with my tc. Are you using version AJ?

You guys might need a newer version of the $EE definition file.

There is a table for burst knock retard in my TunerCat.

I've seen it at work using Freescan, when I punch the gas I'll get knock retard, but the knock count doesn't go up--hence, preemptive retard.

Once I disabled the burst knock retard, it stopped happening.

Can't check my $EE version right now, sorry. But email TC and ask for the newest one, and it'll have it!

JSK333. I think your right about needing a new $EE file. I just checked tunercat's ECM version database and it says there is a AN version out (I have AJ). There is also a newer tuner version (1.99). So much for them keeping us updated.
