I just ordered Dart Pro1 Heads

Jegs has them for $543 each. Part number 11111111L. I called summit racing and they price matched them. $1080 pair. The only thing i dont like is the valve spring its a single spring: 1.25 O.D. and 110 seat pressure, .520 max lift.

Don't Comp 918s swap right on to these heads or no? You've peaked my interest as I had forgotten about these heads. They should make a pretty good budget head out of the box(minus the springs) for those like me wanting to make good power without going broke.

Not bad, but certainly can't be the cheapest way to get 257/170 cfm if you are running out of the box. I wonder what they flow at a more realistic 0.550".

Are you going to have them ported?

personally i dont see the benefit in these vs LE stage 2's with some better springs? if the combustion chamber was larger, then they would be a good choice for some, but my cnc ported stockers are 54 cc with 2.02 1.6 valves flow a little better. I think for a tad more you could do better, in my opinion.

I am running the Dart 180's and so far they are working really nice, especially for the price. I am still working out all the bugs with other issues, but I think they will do very well on a budget build. When I pop a head gasket or have to tear into them, I will send them to Lloyd to see how much more I can get from them..

I too am running the Darts. I was happy they have the small combustion chambers because I had already built my bottom end with the stock heads in mind. Had I bought heads at the same time as pistons, I may have atleast considered Trickflows or explored some of the other brands.

I'm also working out the bugs in my setup before I crank the boost and see what this turbo/heads setup will really do. Out of the box, the Darts looked very good and even had some bowl work from the manufacture. My only problem is that the Dart exhaust ports don't match my "D" port turbo manifolds very well. Hopefully that doesn't cause a huge flow disturbance

I went with trickflow for the bigger combustion chamber to get my CR lower.

Why didn't you just order them from Jegs?!

I've been seriously considering a set of 180s too for my son's 96 Vette and have been doing some research on them. Here's what I came up with so far:

GM HIGH PERFORMANCE TECH mag used them on a 355 CID build. They measured the ports and actually measured just a bit short of 190ccs. The entire article is posted on the GMHPT magazine. The 200s actually measured closer, at 200.7ccs

I've found these as the flow numbers. I forgot to write down who flowed them, but I believe it was AI and were as-cast:

61.2/48.1 129.1/93.6 176.2/124.3 221.7/153.4 250.6/171.5 259.5/179.1@.550 263.9/184.2 261.1/188.9@.650 256.5/192.1

Thanks much for the JEGS and Summit pricing. I was about to order a set from TPIS but I'd have paid $1,350. Guess who I'm going to call now, LOL.

Jake
