I've always had difficulty choosing between the 218/230/114 or the 224/236/114 cam. So for FWIW I have decided on a custom grind about in the middle (lil' closer to the 218 cam) which would be 220/232 .....however, mine will be on a 113 LSA just for a choppier (but driveable) idle. From what I've observed it seems like the surge-prone cams are of longer duration......but the cams with a choppy idle from a narrower LSA that are of shorter duration have better low end torque than meets the ear and sound nasty. This custom grind cam above would still have no "measurable" overlap (220+232) / 2 = 452 .... 452/2 = 226 ......... 226/2 = 113

When the money comes the cam/heads/pistons/75 shot and 600+ flywheel HP will come .... someday
