Post Can i modify a bandpass to make it just ported

How about this, my buddies bandpass he will give me for free, but i dont want just loud annoying bass, i want the thump and punch too, so can i either 1) drill holes in the plexiglass or 2) remove the plexiglass? will this distort the sound? how will it sound? thanks

Only one way to find out Although I'd just remove the plex and not drill it.

That's what I'm saying. If you remove the plexiglass, you're left with a ported box--right? The only thing left to consider is if the air-space is adequate for the subs and that the port volume is correct.

Yes, Yes, for god's sake. If you take the plex off the front of the box, you have a ported box. As long as the air space is close I think it will sound fine. Try it.
