How to tell if my supercharger is good

Ok well today my bro got a car with a supercharger but has no motor.How can i tell if it is good without hookin it up.Is the beltdrive supose to be a lil hard to turn?thanks

the pulley on the blower should move kinda easy. i don't mean like you spinning the fan blades on a ceiling fan in your house. but little effort should turn the impellar on the blower.

its a good blower if it say PROCHARGER on it ...lol

Paxtons are always harder to turn. My Vortech spins way easier than the Paxton, don't worry, it should work.
