How much HP are heads worth?

Hi all.

I have a 96 Impala SS, mods listed in my sig. How much of an increase could I expect if I put in a more blower friendly cam, and a good set of heads? I want it to still be streetable, but I would like some more power.

Thanks.

On a forced application, typically you dont need anything fancy. The blower will make(force) the air go into the cylinder. I would agree on opening the exhuast, larger valves, and mild porting/bowl work.

How much gain?? Well if you open up the breathing, you can make the same power at a lower boost level and your SC doesnt have to work as hard. Your octane requirement will increase if you maintain the same boost level..

If you did heads and left things as they are, your boost guage would read lower. Which is a good thing..Since the air isnt as heated, the blower isnt as strained, etc..

On a NA motor.. then it makes a difference to have "flowed" heads. With a blower..it doesnt care.. unless you were running some class that you were looking for a couple extra HP..which by the looks of your combo thats not the case.
