How much boost from a P1
How much boost from a P1
Hello, I was just wondering what kind of boost #'s I will be looking at when I max out my ATI P1 blower and what kind of hp #'s should I expect? My motor specs are:
355
8.75:1 comp ratio
trick flow heads with LE3 port job (in the 281@.600 range)
comp cam 230/239 duration, .555"/.577", 114lsa
42 lb/hr Fuel Injectors
58mm tb
Dynatech headers
huge front mount intercooler
.....and a bunch of other bolt-ons.
Thanks for any help!

Re: How much boost from P1
Estimate engine air flow by using: CFM = CID*RPM*VE/3456. Assuming 100% VE and 6,500rpm your motor will flow ~720CFM.
The P1 will flow ~1,200CFM.
1,200/720 = ~1.7bar-1bar atmospheric = 0.7bar = ~10psi
You will see a little more than 10psi if you max out the blower at 6,500 because of restriction to flow in the heads and intake, but that's a decent ballpark. Most likely up to 12psi.

I dont get why ATI claims 10-14 with the p1sc stage II for the lt1 kit...I would have got the D1...I was hoping for atleist a little ovewr 12 lbs 14 if im lucky

Your motor will move more air than a stock LT1 and has more displacement.

Re: How much boost from a P1
I think you can see 550-600rwhp with 12 psi boost because you got a built engine..
As Rich said it will be better if you get a set of 48lb or 50lb injectors, and you can reach 60lb by adjusting your fuel pressure..
