I too think that $4k is too cheap for a 1000 rwhp kit. Think about the fact that a good Procharger or Vortech kit goes for over $5k.

That said. . . I'm making 700 rwhp with an LT1 through an auto and loose converter. That's the equivalent of roughly 850 rwhp through an M6. The LT1 does have the advantage of an iron block (though a 4-bolt conversion is necessary) and 4 bolts/cylinder, but the disadvantage of poor flowing stock heads.

A while back, forcedinductions built a single turbo T76GTS LT1 with ported stock heads and 355 cid that made over 1000 rwhp at ~23 psi boost, though some have called BS on it.

Also worth noting is that the PT88 isn't a great choice. The compressor is efficient and matches a v-8 in the 350-400 cid range well, but the turbine is inefficient which increases backpressure and reduces power. A better choice would be an ST80.

Rich, to run 160mph in the 1/4, how much power you need? Probably 1000-1100rwhp?

Obviously, the weight of the car plays into it and it needs to be able to hook. The 1/4m calculators aren't too accurate for really quick cars. But for a production based car like a Camaro, the OP is about right, ~1000rwhp is what you would need. My buddy's 5.0 Fox-body based car weighs ~3,100lbs and is back halved with a 4-link. He runs mid-150's with 900rwhp (through an efficient drivetrain).

I'm hoping to be very close to 800 as soon as I can make it bake to the dyno to do some more tuning.

X2, what Rich said.

I find this a rather odd thread, if I'm getting this right?
He does not care about the ET, just the MPH?

That's opposite my goal, I want to run high 8's and not exceed 150 mph.

---Bill.

PS, 800hp, pushing the limet with a 1st gen, GM, 010 block, splayed caps, O-rings. F1 Procharger, clutch car.

Thanks Rich, I value your nod of approval.

Yes, just a bit longer than a weekend .

thats a 383, GT88 turbo. Jose at forcedinductions sent me that sheet when i was talking to him about potential of a gt88 on a 383 LT1. That was actually done with 25psi despite what the graph says.
