Well, it isn't important to the point you "need" it. You can gap your plugs small enough to battle blow out if you are having that problem.

The msd is good though because it allows you to run a larger gap.

 

How about my BTM?

 

If you only running a blower, then best setup is custom tuning. The BTM allows you to remove timing in the absence of a custom tune. If you have dual power adders like a blower and nitrous, the custom tune can be setup for the blower, then the BTM can be used to remove some additional timing when you use the nitrous. In both cases the ignition box provides a hotter spark helping to preventing the spark from being blown out as stated above.

 

So I should be fine till I get some money? I'm running 7lbs. right now and not using my nitrous. Drives fine but I've yet to get into boost.
