How hard to open combustion chamber?

How hard is it to open the cumbustion chambers in the heads?

I was thinking to try to open them up around 10cc but i'm not sure where you would find so much material.

Anyone got any pictures?

Well youre best off CC'ing each one, start off with a baseline, CC it, do the same for the rest, then CC them to perfection, each one, no big deal, only 8 of them

as for how much 10CC would be, think about it, stock heads are 54-56 CC, now for every .010 mill you drain about 1.6 cc, so now devide 10 cc which is what you want by 1.6 cc, which is 6.25, now multiply .010 by 6.25 & you get .0625, now take a ruler or vernier caliper & set it to .0625 of an inch from the surface of the head to the bottom of the combustion chamber, see how much that is, now measure sideways from the begining of the chamber to the point where the vernier went down to, add that amount all the way accross

very confusing, just CC the damb thing

Is there enough material there?

I just don't know where to take it from, never tried to get rid of compression before

Tell you what, try your idea sometime, and let us know how it turned out, plus, any feedback regarding validity of your original idea.

Hu? I did try that idea, its very commond sense, but point is, just keep CC'ing, I'm just saying thats what you should see happening, when you measure you kind of get an idea of how much meet you're expecting to take out.
