Question Got my car back today, S-Trim idle question

Ok, finally after two weeks I pick my car up today. At idle the car sounds weird to say the least. It makes a slight whistle but that is somewhat drowned out by a grinding noise. What could this be? Is this normal, I personally haven't heard a vortech sound like this. Thanks for the input guys. By the way a little throttle and it sounds normal a nice whistle.

Well stephen good to see you have the car back. S-trims whistle like no other. There one of the loudest blowers out. Grinding sound is normal to a certain point. My blower screams till it gets warm and fully oiled. Im sure what your hearing is a combo or gears and air. If it really seems to be a problem take it back to the shop. On a side note make sure your watching FP and TEMP. If FP is droping dont hit it at all. If you hear pinging stop.

I think your fine just make sure your watching every aspect of the engine at all times. If the blower is bad rebuilds are pretty cheap I think .. Its like 500 for ATI rebuild.

Hey guys, I looked at his car last night. The blower is fine, what he is hearing is the gears. The blower is not as loud as my s-trim was or a few local guys that have them, and that is the reason you can hear the gears. Mine was so loud that you couldnt hear yourself think! But it does have a nice sound just not loud enough to drowned out the gearing noise. Good Luck w/ it!

I have a similar noise, at idle it's perfectly smooth whine no groaning or anything. It only does it under 1500 rpm if i'm not accelerating. Once the rpm goes up it's whistles nice.

Is it true that's once you pulley up the whine will be a different tune since the blower is spinning a bit faster at idle? I'm hoping that will eliminate groaning. Doesn't really both me though, the sound of the blower winding all the way to redline is so sweet, and then you can hear a little air discharge when I shift. Proper.
