Like I said, on my car just dropping the 3 inch exhaust after the downpipe netted 40 horsepower, and that's with a downpipe that necks down to 3" before it passes under the tranny. I'm not saying you can't make power with a baby downpipe, but if you can fit a bigger one and make more power with no sacrifices, why not? Remember that the pressure differential between the front and back side of the impeller helps the turbo spool. My spool time dropped by about 400-500 RPM by dropping the exhaust. On other turbo kits I've built I've always gone as big as reasonably possible after the turbo and I've never had poor results. Why not do it right the first time?
