Home made STS

Hi guys, i need your advice in my plans.

A friend of mine bought a STS system, he`s motor is broke, and his car is on stands.

He offered me to lend me all his tubing, to make an exact replica ( i know of an excellent muffler shop, all mandrelbent etc.)

Do you think this would be an "easy" cheap project, i am guesing i`ll spend around $1,500 dlls in all of tjhe parts, tubing, turbo, inyectors, fuel pump, gauges, oil pump.

What do you guys think??

I`ll let you guys know how this proyect develops. It`s for a M6 1999 Camaro Z28.

I am not looking for a track animal, i`d like around 400-430 rwhp.

Thank`s in advance, and sorry for my english

Me too, i want 5 or 6 psi, my goal is for the 400 430 rwhp.

Daily driver also

My question is this, do i need fuel pump, bigger injectors tune, with 5 or 6 psi?

well the cheep and effective route would be an inline booster pump and FMU.. that should get you going safley. You could always upgrade with bigger injectors and a tune but the fuel pump is a must eather way. Just make sure you get a qualitly boost and A/F guage and some type of fuel pressure guage. You could tape on too the windsheild, work the bugs and make sure its working properly or if you have the coin go for a perminant in cabin guage

I no longer have a Z, but looking to get one and go the rear mount turbo system. I am looking for close to 500rwhp, with that in mind front mount intercooler will be added to this mix. I will let you know when I get the car, hopefully with in the next 4 weeks.

Re: Home made STS

How much timing do you take out of a LS1 when adding 5-6 pounds of boost?
