Holy WOW STS are loud

so, did the hotrod power tour today, and, i was the first turbo car there out of probably 300 when i got there. Pretty cool

Then, bit later a LS1 showed up with the STS kit.
From what i heard from him, and hearing it, i was not impressed at all.
It hung WAY low, and when he got on it, sounded like a freaking airplane almost. He also said he had issues with installing it when it came and not fitting right so he had to modify a couple of the pipes.

The only other turbo cars were the Turbonetics gt mustang, one of the guys that was a part of GMPP, a twin turbo T-64 precision Nova (put out 1088 at the wheels), and a Single turbo t76 Jimmy.

I wish i woulda taken pictures, but, they were beautiful.

Cliff notes: I was REALLY disappointed with the STS setup

dont dis the STS b/c of one... some are duds but some are kick ***.

my buddy has a 01 formula with NOTHING but 42lb injectors, sts kit (6lbs) and a tune and made 473RWHP, but i also know a guy with the same mods but only made 407 on the same dyno and couldnt make anymore through the tune. both are A4s.

i made 398 through a stock LT1 w/ headers and mail order tune with stock injectors.

over all yea sts isnt the best but a damn good starter kit for someone who has no clue about a turbo. over all you cant beat the sound though . there are other cars out there that are running a rear mount but not made by STS and are killing **** on the track like the LS1 vette on ls1tech.com (forget the stats its been a while).

Dude, you have probably set the worlds record with 398 hp from a Stock LT1 with headers and a tune.

ummm cant remember. i actually killed it on a 9lb pass that i did on accident but was totally worth it in the long run. prolly ran it for like 2000 miles and most were just like 5lbs and never really getting into boost much. the last month though before i deployed i gave her hell b/c i knew i wouldnt get to drive it for a long time. dynoed the 398 like 4 weeks i think before it spun a rod bearing or something (never pulled it apart just sold the long block)

anyways REALQUICK FTW!!!
