High Octane

If you are running 20psi. You throw in higher octane (IE: 100, 118, etc...) but don't turn the boost up. Will the car have any increased performance? I am under the impression that it won't do anything for the car.

Re: High Octane

if you have no detination then no.....

the higher the octane the slower the burn rate and the less btu's per gram

Re: High Octane

So if you're not advancing timing or adding boost... no hp gains? I thought so. Thank you

Re: High Octane

the higher octane allows you to run more timing which equals more power. but if it isnt tuned for it, it wont really make a difference

Re: High Octane

You also have to be careful with some of the higher octane stuff. Some race fuels are leaded which will screw up the O2 sensors.
