Help on Turbo Oil Lines
I'm setting up my turbo system, and some unique idea came to mind -
Earl's quick disconnect couplers. If it was adapted to the turbo, then you could run braided lines to the turbo, and in order to remove it, you'd un-clamp the downpipe, unclamp the intake and intercooler, unbolt the 4 bolts holding it to the headers, and pop off the oil lines. Normally this wouldnt be so bad, but when room is tight down there, getting a wrench on both sides of the turbo and not stripping fittings might be a little more difficult. Not to mention the couplers have built in check valves that would block any loss of flow or annoying drips. Might these clog with the hot coke when shutting the car down? Perhaps. That's why I'm asking...
I think the added cost of using these fittings (considering I was going to use braided lines anyway) over regular fittings is certainly worth the added convenience of working with quick disconnect hardware. I mean, imagine how much time we save with the stock fuel lines/filter!
Has anyone ever done something like this? Is this a good idea with the heat/pressure of the oil?
Or as a backup/alternative
Earl's Quick Fit hose fittings.
