Help with LT1 smog pump removal.

I have a 94 Z/28 and i need to make room for a turbo and I was wondering if there is any problems with removing the smog pump and all of its plumbing? Will it effect how it runs at all or will it trip any codes in the computer?

It only runs for a few minutes after startup. I think it is to add extra air to the rich mixture exhaust when you're in open loop so the cold cat won't coke up and stop working.
