Help finishing my 5 year old project

Ive had almost everything except fuel and tuning for my Z28 for 5 years, and never have finished it. I havent really done anything with the car for years..

Anyways, I got a wild hair up my butt to get it done and want some advice on what to do for tuning and fuel. I want to use the stock 95 ecm, and high impedence injectors.

I have two high pressure walbro intank pumps.. This is what I need to know,

Will the stock lines support my setup,

What fuel lines, Injectors, and will my computer handle a blower without using an FMU.

8:1 383 studed, splayed, fully forged with good stuff., D1 procharger, AFR 190 ported Heads, forget the cam specs but it was something like 635/608 lift on a 116lsa, blower cam, ect ect..

Motors been in the car for years, probably put 5K miles on it NA, well broken in..

Help me finish this long project.

Depends on how much boost/HP your planning on. Get big enough injectors (maybe 80#/hr range). I think some people are making 1khp on stock fuel lines. Just have the 2nd pump kick on at about 5psi so the stock fuel regulator isn't overwhelmed with more unused flow than it can return.

A simple 2bar tune would be all you need. If your cam is too crazy in the overlap area, you'll never be able to tune it in closed loop which is a terrible thing since it can completely kill the drivability of the car.

60# injectors arent quite big enough.
Two walbros; one on a ~5psi hobbs switch will be fine.

Why are you changing your mind about the DFI? And what are you asking for it?

Re: Help finishing my 5 year old project

Will I need to do anything with the stock regulator or will it be ok as long as one pumps run with a Hobs switch?

So I take it the stock computer can be programmed for the boost without using some type of FMU?

As far as the DFI, I was originally going to try to make a ton of power, ie 800-1000, and I thought that would be out of the relm of the stock computer. But my goals have changed, and a 600hp driver with AC is more of what Im interested in as Ive gotten older..

I paid 800 for the DFI several years ago, comes with the plug and play LT1 harness, beat up laptop, but it works, and a fully adjustable low impedence injector converter, i believe accell, but not sure, you can adjust each injector individually on the converter itself.. Make an offer..

Stock line will be fine for your setup. You can get high Z injectors up to 80# or so nowadays.

Re: Help finishing my 5 year old project

i made 670@14psi at the wheels thru a th400 and big stall with 60lbs injectors, stock lines, dual walbros (sec pump comes on via wot switch), boost refrenced fpr, my injectors were at 9x% so they were pretty much maxed. stock comp will make all the power you want just limited in rpm, 7kish is the max.

im about to try out some 103lb high impedence injectors! oh and i was running pump gas, no meth, ported lt1 castings, bone stock intake, and a2a intercooler. its gettin some upgrades!!!! lol
