guys w/a4 and supercharged inside please

maybe this is nothing, what do you think?

now, I now this isnt the best setup, but it is what it is for now.

LS1, ATI D1SC, pullied for 8psi or so, stock converter, longtube headers offroadypipe, b&b catback, stock rear gears 3:23 I believe.

now, this maybe normal cause I did not get very far into the throttle due to it not being tuned yet, and stock injectors. the fella I did the install for wanted to drive it onto the trailer, then into the shop. the tuning shop will install the inj.s, then dyno tune. I drove the car to make sure the freshly rebuilt tranny was ok and all else looked ok. I saw 0 boost when lightly accelerating, I expected to see maybe a pound or two but no. didnt want to push it at all for obvious reasons.

so, finally my question is how hard do you have to accelerate before the boost builds? also, doesnt the stock gears and conv. make it take longer to build boost? its on its way to the dyno/tune monday, just thought Id post this here to see what your opinions would be.

Sounds normal IMO

You are need to put more load on the engine before you start building boost.

Stock gearing and converter isn't going to hamper boost building in the way you are thinking.

I dont think it will lower boost or anything, just seems like it would make you have to push the car harder to get it to come on.

I never see any boost until I'm getting on it pretty reasonably...sounds normal.

Unhappy

well, turns out I messed up. had the bypass valve hose hooked up to the wrong side of the one way valve on the firewall. car had no boost at WOT. easy enough to figure out and fix though. next time I'll make sure Im on the right side w/a vacuum gauge at the bypass valve. also the f'n crank bolt already loosened up on him. time to search and prolly make a new post. on the good side, he did make some good power on the dyno. got 415HP and 385torque w/just supercharger, headers, exh., tune. only 6 lbs boost too.
