Greddy T88 34D.. thoughts on this unit?

Hey guys I just purchased a Greddy T88 34D from a supra friend making close to 800 RWHP.. compressor maps on this turbo are next to impossible to find if there are any.. but here are the specs of the turbo.. any knowledge on this unit and how you think it will perform are greatly appreciated!

Compressor

2.744" / 69.7mm Inducer

3.740" / 95.0mm Exducer

Turbine

2.846" / 72.3mm Exducer

3.346" / 85.0mm Major

the hot side looks similar to the R trim in a Garret/Turbonetics turbo.. the cold side is a little on the small side compared to some of the other turbos available but at the price and condition this unit is I felt it was a better choice then the P trim T70 I had previously purchased for the project. anythoughts or points of view on this?

thanks in advance!

Its a little more capable unit then a standard T70 due to the frame of the turbo. Also they use larger A/R's so that will help as well. You won't reach 800rwhp with it on a large V8 (due to different PR and efficiency), but the unit is still good for around 650-700rwhp. You may try to see if you can trade the unit out on supraforums for the Greddy T88-38GK which is a 76mm unit. Some guys get greedy and buy those large units and then want to downgrade. The GK will provide you with another 100-150rwhp.

Jose, thanks for the idea.. I had no idea there even was a 38gk..lol greddy is so stingy with their specs it gets ridiculous trying to learn anything about them. I think for the time being I am gonna go ahead and finish with this turbo getting everythign put together.. I am much happier about the hot side size as the little T70 was VERY small in comparison on the turbine, and i have seen on here some fairly nice numbers out of a Q trim 76, and the turbine side looks bigger on the greddy by a little bit.. and the way that supra felt was nice..lol I understand what you say about the Pressure Ratio and efficiency.. that turbo is in its sweet spot at higher boost and moves the greatest amount of air at that point without heating it as much as outside its efficiency range. Have you seen this turbo on a V8 before? I am very curious!

That's the exact turbo I was going to use on my old Camaro, but I sold it for a great deal on an HKS unit. I always wondered how it would have performed.
