Great heads, quickly?

Anybody got a source for heads? With the shortblock supposed to ship this weekend finally, I really need to get on locating some. I was originally going with worked stock heads, but due to a miscommunication that isn't going to happen on schedule, and I've since decided to invest a bit more in the heads anyway. I heard rumors that AFR's were major backordered (3 months?), but might be willing to wait if necessary. It's for a S-trim'd 383 and I'm open to all suggestions. Hoping somebody knows of some in stock. Thanks!

AFR almost always has a wait time. I think I waited 6 weeks for mine.

best bet would be to hit the FS section and find some ported stockers or something.

Contact Jeff Stevens, 10secz. He had some killer stock castings that got his S-Trim car into the 9's that are for sale on his website. Dunno if they're still available, but I've always admired them.

http://para.noid.org/~lj Look in the for sale section.

I can tell you for sure that the head porting maniac at www.cylinderheadspecialties.com does excellent work and his heads flow as good as any I've seen. He only had mine 1 week and they were done, larger valves, and beautifully ported with an excellent valve job. I highly reccomend him.
