T or TT?

After 2 Years of research and hard thinking about what to do with my engine...I've decided to go turbo.

I'd like to fabricate my own Turbo kit for my ride, but I want something unique.

I was wondering though, is it best to go with one GIant Turbo...or Two smaller Turbo's? The reason I ask this is because there doesn't seem to be hardly any room for piping underneath the hood. Especially not for a TT setup...but I've seen enough TT guys to know it can be done. I've already brought a couple Space saving items...but we'll see.

My next question is...what is best to do to the Block? How should I prep it to handle a load of around 10psi.

Is it best to stick with the 350...or for an added kick should I take it to 355 and drop the compression a bit? (allot)

Is a Turbo V8 best in 350-55 trim or should I still keep my original 383 idea in mind?

The only reason I truly decided to go turbo was cost wise. I could build myself a decent TUrbo kit for almost hte same price of my 383 kit I was thinking of purchasing. But since with the Turbo's feeding the LT.... I wouldn't need to worry about upgrading to LT-4 specs...for some extra HP. I could pretty much keep my LT-1 heads and all and just have them Ported and Decked to run on a Low compression engine. I'd figure it wouldn't matter much. I estimated I'd save a tone of money....by working with what I already got.

My next question is... who sells the sing T or TT manifolds? I've seen some floating around before...but I do not know where to look for them. It would be 100% easier to purchase prebuilt heads...that alreadu have the right angle and clearance I need to get a jump start on this.

What do you guys reccomend?
Any sources I might want to check?

I thought I could use a set of shorty headers, but after trying a few sets on a buddies car, it became real apparent that they would not work. Ended up building my own, it really wasn't to bad!

Take all the emissions crap and accessories off and there's quite a bit of room.

I've got a BMR k-member, Flaming River rack and a different radiator going in. There's enuff room on the drivers' side to get a 4" and possibly a 5" downpipe through.

How is driving the car with no power streering? I would imagine its tough, but sure as heck would free up a good bit of room.

Skinnies and a manual rack, not too bad. Gets a little tough trying to get into a parking spot at the local Price-Mart, but how often does that happen? Wide tires though....

By chance...do you have any pics from under the car? I've seen the ones from above. Just curious.

I'm using PTK headers, crossover pipe, and wastegate pipe on my turbo build.

I could not give up my power steering. Pretty much a must on a street car imo

The rack I got is from Madman. It's a Pinto rack w/ new mounts welded on and a bump steer kit (since the Pinto is a tad narrower than a 4th-gen Firebird). I had to drill out the tapered hole on the spindles to fit the new bolts. Nothing really tough though.

I'm doing my own kit (large twins) because I can do it for half of what most companies would charge. $8K is nuts, especially when the turbos aren't even close to the size of the Mustang Outlaw kits that are close to the same price.

Well, we're a PTK dealer, so I can't quote you my cost, but if I were selling them retail I would charge $1499 for them.
