Re: Got my 2 bar MAP installed Saturday

All you guys should have files in your in box. Any advice on timing would be welcome. I'm sure I'm a little too advanced around 3500 when in the boost (getting KR spikes), but haven't scrutinized the log enough to pull any.

btw, since a stock PCM is willing to pull 13 degrees of advance when in WOT, I guess you'd probably get by for quite some time with stock programming and a 2 bar map, but I hate the feeling of the car deciding it needs to pull a bunch of timing (it always over-reacts, then gives it back gradually).

Re: Got my 2 bar MAP installed Saturday

My email got rejected by a few of you guys. I'm sending the stuff to my work email, and I'll try to send from there tomorrow. Probably because my tiny ISP is getting blocked by your servers for some reason. I asked them to look into it. Sorry!

Using the specialized tools makes everything a snap!!! you just remove the pins from the connectors which goes so flat out easy its not even funny.. nice when you have the right tool huh?

I think I've sent files to everyone who's asked. I just hit the send button. Since I don't seem to be getting notices when posts to this thread happen, you can email me at paul.hillyard@lindonnet.com if you'd like me to send you the files.

Hey JWBerk94Z, If you're still thinking about how to deliver that boost, you need to look at the STS system. And get the switchable methanol while you're at it. It's addictive! No LT1 should be without one! I love my car. BTW, my friend just put the 1.9/1 rockers on his GTP, and replaced his down pipe, and it shaved 3/10ths off his quarter mile. He ran a 13.62 at 4500 ft above sea level. He's a '98, I think. Altitude sucks power, so don't make fun of that time. He's fast, but not even close to the Camaro at 7 lbs.

Re: Got my 2 bar MAP installed Saturday

i've done a similar thing as you, ive been running it for almost 6 months aswell, i used the 2Bar map from a supercharged buick regal, straight plug and play(minus tuning of course)

as far as tuning for a 2 bar map in reference to what it "sees", i have noticed some are different then others, because there are a few different part numbers from GM for 2 bar maps...and they become slightly distorted in readings. for a rough generalization you are correct, the 2bar will read 1/2 of what is actually there for the ECU, and you did what i did, just bring 50 to 25, etc, etc. ive got quite a few bin files i have written and modified, but since i upped the boost, i havent had a chance to change them and i really need to because i am getting insane knock and running very very rich. for tuning, i use winbin, and just burn a new chip and test it out, wish i could afford the tunercat RT though, none of the pull the chip, and burn a new one nonsense.
