functional air scoop with SC?

does anyone have a functional air scoop working, feeding a supercharger?...if so, can you tell a difference?

I am not using the hood scope but built something to divert cold air to my supercharger. Look at the air dam.

cheers

Where is your airfilter...is it right on the back of the blower and this routes cold air to it or is it right in the air scoop?

Do you notice a difference in boost from this set up or cooler IATs with this set up?

Thanks for any input.

For the Vortech kit, the air filter sits enclose below the headlights. So I built this air dam to divert cold air straight to the air filter. I don't know the exact benefit, but I tend to do this to all my car. Everything is from home depot and really easy to throw together.

As for the hood scope, I cut off the fins or blockage inside to open it up more. This is a must if it is being use. I did it so that hot air can evacuate easier and also to allow cold air to cool my engine.

cheers

i wasnt asking because of the cool air thing, but on a NA car, a ram air will create more power because air is being forced into the motor, but since a supercharger is already forcing air in, will a ram air forcing air into a supercharger make more power?

As Brook said, the ram air effect is marginal if not negligible in comparison to the compressing and boosting effect of the supercharger. More like a garden hose in the river.

Imagine that the supercharger is spinning 50K rpm to compress the air; this is way beyond what a ram air can do (IMO).

Although, if it is easy to do, I would end up doing it. But if it is a hassle, there are many other mods that will greatly help the SC.

cheers
