Fuel pump questions
Fuel pump questions
My brother has a 92 Z with a built 350 and 12# ATI. While swapping out batteries, I didn't hook up the power for the in line fuel pump while I was going to put it up on ramps. The car would turn over but just wouldn't start6. As soon as I attatched the power wire for the In line pump, the car started right up. I am assuming the in tank/stock pump is history but want to eliminate any other options like fuel pump relay. Does anyone know where the fuel pump relay is located on the firewall in a 3rd gen or have any other sugestions on what to check? Thank in advance,
Kyle

If the in-line pump you are referring to is the "helper" from ATI to help the in tank pump then the answer is no power=no fuel. The in line pump from ATI will not allow any fuel to pass with no power. Hope this helps
The relay in my car is located under the hood on the drivers side next to the master cylinder. There are 3 of them. Fuel pump, fan and secondary fan. The one that is kind of by itself is the pump relay, but based on what I read on your post, the power to the in-line pump was your problem. Before my stock pump went, it was supporting 388rwhp. When it went, it went!! Good luck
