Fuel Pressure gauge on FMU
#3
well i would like to have a gauge under there i guess for just piece of mind. I just figured it would be easier to put it off the fmu instead of the schrader valve. sometimes when i get into the throttle a little i can hear the car missing, and sometimes it doesn't, So i just want to make sure that my fuel pressure is where its supposed to be, at least at the start. Im going to be getting a dyno tune soon and getting rid of my hypertech i think, it doesn't seem to be a very popular way to tune your car. Which would be the best place to put the gauge, The FMU or off the schrader valve

Might want to consider a nice electric gauge like from Autometer to mount in vehicle.
I measure at the Schrader. At the very least you would want to measure at FMU discharge to understand what the fuel rails will see.

i already have aem gauges in the car so im looking into getting a aem fuel pressure gauge to put inside. Im a little confused about where the electric sender goes for a fuel gauge, other gauges i know but im unfamiler with a electric fuel pressure gauge. Any help?

Th electric F.P. sender unit is a transducer that just need to be installed in the fuel system to sample the pressure, in your case, between the FMU and the fuel pressure regulator. The FMU may have a "port" built into it for such a reason, or as it was suggested in an earlier post, use the schrader port that is built into the fuel rail cross-over tube. You will more than likely need to purchase some fittings in order to connect the sending unit to the fuel system. The schrader poer happens to work with a -4 AN fitting. Make sure you remove the actual valve from inside the port first if you choose to connect the sending unit there.
On a different note, you may want to consider eliminating the Hypertech unit from the car now as those units typically will advance the stock timing for more performance. Great for a N.A. motor, but it appears your motor is stock. If running any kind of boost, the timing really needs to be retarded rather than advanced. Just something to consider.

I was looking at the fmu that is on the car. I want to gauge to read pressure while im WOT. So would i want to install it on the fuel in line going to the fmu or the fuel out line going to the fuel rail, or am i not making any sense at all and making this to hard
