Front mounted intercooler?
Front mounted intercooler?
I am considering front mounting the 2 row intercooler that came with my p600b kit due to lack of ground clearance with my car being lowered 2".
What all do I need to do this? I believe I have to remove the front bumper support or something of that nature. Does this make the bumper cover fit loosely? Any adverse effects to doing this like overheating or anything? Do I need to cut the front end of the car at all other than opening up the bumper cover? Any pics of this being done?
Thanks
Stevie

Re: Front mounted intercooler?
Here are pics and a partial installation guide (never quite finished it).

When I had the intercooler mounted vertical against the frame rails it would get to about 1/2 way on the gauge when I ran the A/C but never overheated.
After I blew up the motor I angled the intercooler to mirror the radiator to try and increase airflow so I could run the A/C but I ended up yanking out the A/C as it was in my way and I never used it anyway (got T-tops).

. Would it have been such a big deal to add 6" front to back and 2" on the sides???I think at this point the ATI twin ICs may be the only option.
My next project will either be a V8 240Z or a Dodge truck
