Well, see, I would have driven close to two hours to get to a drag strip, so I'd be a little ticked if I only got to make one pass.

By the time I actually get around to doing something like this, I'll be putting a lot of money into the car to make sure it can handle. A set of forged pistons would definitely be included, and a 12 bolt or Dana 60 if I don't already have one by then. I'm not the type to risk stuff like that.

I went with the P1SC. It can be pullied for 7psi, and I don't want to hurt the motor, so I went with 5. Still should be good for low 12's/high 11's easily. I just need to get it tuned soon....

I wasn't even wearing a helmet during my 11.21 pass.

Rollbar in a street car that gets 27 mpg highway?

NOT TRUE SIR!
I had heard this rumor as well! So I contacted NHRA!

I asked...
Hello
I’m building a street car to take to the drag strip. I have heard that Rear turbo kits, like the STS turbo system will not be a legal. Is this true???? I don’t want to install a turbo system and not be able to race.

Thanks
Ross

Hi Ross,
Just a rumor. In fact, we saw one of these systems at PRI last week, and it looks fine. As long as the turbo is under the floor, and not in the driver’s compartment, no problem.
Jim Skelly,

NHRA

I ended up going Procharger F1a due to my big inch motor and other reasons!

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the clarification.

Read it in another thread (http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=485258) and was just passing it along.

I would not go with a D1-sc if you aren't going above 8 psi. Between the really peaky power curve and the fact that your car is a 6 speed you will never run the proper number at the track. I would recommend a smaller blower so that you can fill the compressor housing sooner and flatten out that power curve. If you want to go bigger later on just sell the compressor and bracket and buy bigger then.
