The motor popped, but a new one is on the way, that motor was a 398 LT1, AFR 220s and a 260/260 cam.

We'll I've ran open headers around the block on my car before and his car reminded me of that
If that car does have mufflers, they are straight thru!

The fastest stock style suspension f-body is Rick Head, 7.60's on drag radials (twin turbo SBC) The fastest f-body that races at the LS1tech events and posts on the internet is Matt Harlan- 8.20's (twin turbo LS1)

Re: Is this the fastest Lt1?

Apparently all that was wrong with the motor was a spun bearing. The block held up to 1500+hp on the dyno, cant wait to see what itll do with that power at the track..

Is Rick Head the same one mentioned in this thread? If not, why year F-body?

When will the formula get new bearings? Glad to hear the LT block held up, someone in another thread said the block let go, or a rod did and FUBAR'd the block.

Interesting he used a 398, i figured he would go with a 355 or something for more strength. Thicker cylinder walls and less mean piston speed should make the whole setup stonger. What rpm is(was) he running it up to? And what max boost is he hitting?
