External oiler for P600 B ?
I'll be running a P600B shortly and was wondering, has anyone used an external electric pump and cooler to pump the oil through the SC then into a small sump tank ? I figure it would be ideal that way I could run a different viscosity oil through the SC, and make sure no dirty oil ever flows through there.

Well, since nobody else is saying anything...It's really not worth the trouble. You'd have to produce probably 50 to 60 psi any time the blower is turning. It could never run dry. Your oil resevoir would have to be lower than the blower in order to drain adequately (sp?). I've heard of a couple people trying it before, but it just ended up being a big mess.

You could do that, (although ProCharger would never recommend it), but you'd have to check to make sure you are getting the same oil pressure after the filter as you are before the filter. Plus you would have to be constantly checking the pressure after the filter in case the filter gets plugged up. Sounds like you should check into selling that blower and bracket and buy a self-contained blower and bracket.

I don't see where you would have to make 50-60 psi. Just enough to get the nozzle spraying like it should.
I would call ATI and pitch them your idea and ask if they have any ideas or concerns.
I have the same blower and I just keep the oil changed and hope for the best. Might be all you can do.

How much oil pressure does your engine make? The oil-fed blowers were meant to run at the same oil pressure that the engine runs at.

Mine makes nearly 75 at cold, 45 at warm. I've got quite a bit different setup than most cars though.
I'm also running a remote filter mount and lines to move alot of oil. I was thinking of Tigging a AN line off the mount after the regular oil filter, but i'm worried about too much of a pressure loss over the filter media and out the line.
I may email procharger and ask them.
Also, no way i'm selling this unit. I'll be supercharged and intercooled for well under $900 total

Whats up Shannon.
Sounds like everthing is working out good on your little project. I'm sure the p600b will treat you right
Good luck with the rest of your project...keep me posted on the numbers you get out of it.

Well, you got my curiosity going, so I called ATI. They said it only needs 25 -30 psi for the spray from the mister nozzle to reach all the critical parts.
