i just figure 3" would be fine since the outlet on the turbo is like 3.25"
Technical definition would be nozzle . I'm sure it will work but in my opinion will be sub-optimal. If you're building from scratch why not go 3.5-4" single?

Got details of your setup?

ok. heres my reasoning. i had like 20 turbo dsm cars, no exageration. 3" was waayy more than needed on them, and i know that they were 4 cylinder cars, however, my mpt70 turbo has a 3.25" outlet on it and the car currently has a 3" exhaust on it with no problems at all, so it seems to me like a 3" exhaust with this small of a turbo should be fine. if later i upgrade to a t88 or something like that then ill ill sell my setup and upgrade my exhaust, but until then i think it'll be ok as long as its pretty much straight through. if not ill let everybody know, and eat my words later

Not the best because you can't judge volume from a handheld and youtube but...

Idle - You can see where my turbo is. My downpipe basically makes it to about the drivers seat and dumps. 3" - I had a 3" Sweet thunder muffler on it which is stright through other than the d hammer baffles and could not make more than 10psi.

The whistle is farrrr louder than the motor. Granted a muffler would drown some of that out I really like the way it worked out. At idle its not much louder than an 80 series flowmaster. At WOT it sounds like a jet.

If you actually have a turbo with an outlet big enough to justify that, I bet its going to be loud.
