Exhaust questions

This probably shouldn't be in this section but couldn't find anywhere it fit. My 95 z28's exhaust sounds horrible. I have edelbrock headers not cat and flowmaster exhaust. When you let off the gas it pops horribly. All the exhaust shops say that because they can't run true duals their is no way around it. This sounds so bad I would rather give up the performance and go back to stock. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Your first problem is going with a flowmaster exhaust...My buddy had one and it sounded (and performed) terribly. Ditch the edelbrock shorties and look into getting some jet hot long tubes, slp's, kooks, pacesetters and hookers to name a few. As far as true duals go...a guy i know has pacesetter long tubes and Lanes true duals (3 inch pipes into an x pipe and dump before axles). Its sounds ok, but it is really d*mn loud and drones sometimes. All depends what you want. I would ditch the edelbrocks and flowmaster...there is way more potential in other exhaust systems, especially if you want to run FI with success.

Re: Exhaust questions

Do a search on the forum for true duals, true duals have been put on a bunch of f-bodys from this site.

Re: Exhaust questions

I say tuning is you issue. I'm running JBA shorties, no cat and a flowmaster and have little to no popping.

Re: Exhaust questions

I have the old flowmaster series 80's and they sound fricken awesome never had a popping problem, you sure you dont have little holes in your exhaust from rust or a small crack in a weld?....anyways i would go with a hooker long tube headers, off road y pipe, cat delete and borla cat-back exhaust setup with angled 3 1/2" tips
