ever foul plugs so bad the car wont start?

B/c I think I just did... I've been moving the car around the past couple weeks since I was doing the body work and prepping it for paint. The wide band reads about 11.3 at idle and it's leaves black spots on the ground from the downpipe. Well I was backing into my shop and it was idling really low and rough, been getting progessively worse, then she died. It was in the spot I needed so I just let it go. Went to start it back up after water sanding and it tries to fire a couple times and that was that. I have spark at the plugs and I hear the fuel pump coming on, so I pulled one of the plugs and it was completely covered in soot. Going to get new plugs and give it a shot, just wondering if anyone else has fouled a set so bad the car wouldn't start.

Nope, not that bad, but its obvious you are running pig fat. That could lead to other much bigger problems than just not starting. It take the plugs out, and clean them with a wire brush and re-install them. If it still doesn't want to start, then its not the plugs.

Either way, sounds like you need to get a tune, or at least change whatever is making you run that rich.

Well the car is on my old motor tune with a MAF and now it has none. Cam is not much different, same injectors. I havent been driving it, just moving it from spot to spot in the shop. It will be tuned before it's driven, just wondering if anyone else has done this.

I've never fouled any plugs that bad and when I was first trying to get the 2 bar tune to work I had some 10.7 afr idle and 9.9 with a little bit of throttle. Never killed them though.

My car won't even run with the MAF unplugged. I can change the tune to use speed density (check the box in parameters) and it will run fine. I think it is an OBD2 thing.

But you drove the car around right? Mine doesnt move but 10 feet at a time just to move it into the middle of the shop to do body work, then back to the side so I can put our truck back inside.

Mine is converted to obdI, but it still is on a MAF tune. I'm going to bring it home and put a SD tune, then hook up the megasquirt.

I have - early on in my supercharger folleys - I fouled my plugs so bad the car would not start, or barely start, sputter, and die -- it acted like the opti was bad - i changed the opti, no change....so I then thought ignition.....tested my msd, tested coil, then bought a new ignition module......still did not start/run - soooo frustrated ---- I finally decided to pull and change my plugs - that was it - car started right up and drove great - i had it tuned by a pro soon after that......
