Essential gauges?
Essential gauges?
What gauges are essential for a turbo car? I was thinking A/F ratio and boost. I figure fuel pressure isn't really essential if you keep an eye on A/F ratio? What are you guys running? Any good looking gauge pods/pillars out there?
Re: Essential gauges?
wideband, pyrometer, boost. theres lots of mounting options... my 97 i have a 6litereater center vent gauge mount, my 95 has gauges where the CD holder is...plus i have a pillar pod.
Re: Essential gauges?
I was running boost and EGT previously. Swapped the EGT for a fuel pressure gauge. I feel the fuel pressure gauge is a little more reliable than the AF gauge. Hopefully you'll notice the fuel pressure pressure drop before you start breaking parts. If you see an AF gauge go red then the motor is already running lean.
Re: Essential gauges?
1.) Wide-band for sure..
2.) Boost/Vac- lets you monitor things, making sure you aren't over or under-boosting
3.) Fuel pressure is nice- typically give you heads up to make sure the fuel isn't the issue should problems arise.
4.) Oil Pressure- I don't trust the factory gauge- it isn't necessary, but with the coin you'll have invested in the motor its nice to know everything is getting the oil it should.
