Engine mods for a Procharger on my 383

I may have a chance to pick up a Procharger, 12 rib drive, 8 PSI, 3 core intercooler at a decent price.

My current set up is a 383 with CNC LT4 Heads/INtake, JE Forged pistons (11:1 comp), and a CC306 cam with 114 LSA.

Would I need to change out the pistons or can I reliably drop the compression with a thicker gasket.

Will my cam be ok?

What other things do I need to look out for?

Thanks for your help

With all forged internals I don't think you'll have a problem with only 8psi, remember centrifical superchargers make boost with rpm so under normal cruise conditions you won't get near 8psi of boost. Just remember to run the highest octane fuel you can find or octane booster and if you're really worried about it being too much boost, it's cheaper/easier to change the pulley on the supercharger than to pull the heads to change the gaskets.

Just me, but I would pull the pistons and sell them for some low comps. If you get a great tune and 94 octane+ you should be ok. Soon as your motor gets heat soaked detonation will be a problem. Make sure not to slack on the fuel. CC306 is a nice NA cam but not the best blower cam. Just buy a custom blower cam it will make much better power.

Crank? Rods? Fuel?<---- Need more info whats your goals? Street strip or what?

Flowmaster catback with electric cutout
B&M Ripper Shifter
McLoed Street Twin Clutch with steel Fly wheel
Stock T-56 M6
ACCPT Carbon Fiber Drive Shaft

looks real nice and you wont need more than 6psi on that puppy to achive 450++rwhp. Fuel system is kind of weak IMO. Stock fuel pump must go You need somthing like a gss340 at the least. With FMU 32s might work but I would change those to 42s/50s or even LI 70s(NO FMU). Dont know anything about summit rods.

Your only problem is the high comp. You could try it and blow some head gaskets or a motor. Once again if it where me I would lower compression. Another thing that can suck is geting a good TUNE. Its not a easy task but well worth the PSI .

I would hook a 150 shot up and push 600rwp and when it blows do the blower thing.
