Electric Supercharger kit?

I seen on ebay they are going for around $140. Do they really work? I know forceing air into your motor can make more hp but they are cheap looking.

It's a scam. That's all there is to be said about it.

On a big motor like ours, it would more than likely hurt performance because it would be an obstacle in the airflow. In small engine 2L or less, i would be at least willing to try it.

I'll cut you a deal....I'll rebadge my girlfriends hairdryer and write "electric supercharger" on it and I'll only charge you $100.00.

Sorry...couldn't resist!

These sound like junk. Most of these claim to flow 900cfm, but probably flow less. As far as what throttle bodies will flow according to TPIS:

48mm, 668 cfm
52mm, 790 cfm
58mm, 1000 cfm

So on stock 48mm there might be a some gain, but at the point you have a 58mm TB, you would be creating a blockage.

They create no boost. Boost gives you HP not Cfm...

Since you asked a serious question (but are getting silly replies ) I'll go ahead and move it to the Forced Induction forum rather than the Lounge.

The guys over there can explain why or why not this could/can't work
