Blower Piston / Wrist Pin Question
Blower Piston / Wrist Pin Question
My stock LT1 broke some ring lands on 8#'s boost. I want to patch it back together leaving the stock rods/crank/etc, and just put in 31cc dished blower pistons while my 383 stroker is on order.
My questions:
I've noticed that most forged pistons come with wrist pins. Are they pressed in like stock, or full floating? Do they all work with the stock rods, or do I have to be careful on what I order? I was thinking of some -31cc dished SRP pistons.
Will I have to have the rotating assembly re-balanced or will it be fine if only the pistons are replaced? I won't be revving over 5800rpm and this will only be run for approx 6 months.
Thanks,
Brent M.

You dont have to re-balance the whole rotating assembly, just make sure your pistons all weight close to the same, as far as pistons SRP is a good brand and you can get pins that you can press in or full floating ones whichever you want
